About the Wheelchair Foundation
Permission to reprint given by the Wheelchair Foundation
The Wheelchair Foundation has learned through the World Health Organization that there are between 100 and 130 million people around the world without money to buy a wheelchair. To address the actual world need, the Wheelchair Foundation must raise $19.5 billion. This number is greater than any one organization can handle, so a coordinated global effort is the plan of action. The Wheelchair Foundation's plan of action is simple and effective. It teams up with individuals, Rotary clubs, and responsible, well-established non-governmental organization (NGO's) around the world such as, the American Red Cross, Counterpart International, and The Salvation Army. The Foundation pays to manufacture and ship the wheelchairs, while the NGO's identify needy individuals, distribute the wheelchairs in the country, return a photo of each wheelchair recipient to the Foundaton and provide follow-up care. The Wheelchair Foundaton has quickly become the world's largest humanitarian provider of wheelchairs.

The Wheelchair Foundation provides wheelchairs for those in need by matching a donor's $75 gift with $75 from the Foundation.  These funds are combined specifically for the purpose of delivering a wheelchair to a child or teen without mobility, freedom, and often hope.

With your donation you will receive a personalized presentation certificate, including a photograph of a wheelchair recipient. The certificate can be personalized as a gift in honor or memory of a special person.

During the past year, many Rotarians provided the funding and connections to do an extraordinary amount of good for the hurting and suffering children in Mexico. Rotary planted the seeds! Now we must continue to water what has been planted and plant more seeds. Children need an education to help get themselves out of poverty. The Children Without™ board of directors believes that this specific project to provide educational scholarships for children living in a garbage dump needs to continue. The scholarship project has been named Imagination Education. And the board also believes that children in need of a wheelchair, no matter where they live, should have the opportunity to receive a wheelchair!  There is an overwhelming desire on behalf of the Children Without™ board of directors to find a way to make these two projects continue.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Children Without™ provides small grants to partner organizations, facilitates projects, and offers a communication portal for caring and compassionate individuals and organizations. Children Without™ specializes in finding and connecting the donor with the best possible fit for their humanitarian mission.

Children Without™, because of generous donations made by caring and compassionate individuals. The first 40 $50 donations will be matched with $25 from Children Without. The $75 will then be matched by the Wheelchair Foundation, and one wheelchair will be purchased for a child in need.

The goal of Children Without™ is to raise $21,000 through donations and sponsor a 40' container of 280 wheelchairs that will be delivered to a developing country by the Wheelchair Foundation.  The $21,000 will be matched again by the Wheelchair Foundation for a total of $42,000. In the event donations will not support a 40' container of 280 wheelchairs, Children Without™ will forward all donations and matching grants collected to the Wheelchair Foundation to be used to purchase and deliver wheelchairs to children in a developing country.

This is the power of leveraging!!!
